Many of you was born with this word, M-U-L-T-I-M-E-D-I-A, costantly declaimed by parents and friends. "Multimedia (Lat. Multum + Medium) is media that uses multiple forms of information content and information processing (e.g. text, audio, graphics, animation, video, interactivity) to inform or entertain the (user) audience." (cit. Wikipedia). For example cinema is an example of multimedia application, video plus audio, along with newspapers and books, because they contains images and text. Multimedia science was redefined when the computer revolution starts, but in our opinion the real multimedia generation is starting now...

"Mobile multimedia" can be tremendously powerful, you can use a single device to: view a cool film, listen you preferred music, take a photo of a beautiful rainbow or record an unforgettable moment. Moreover with the same device you can surf to Internet, call the grandmother, read the latest news, play a puzzle game, buy an acient book, send a file to nearby friends, write some critical notes, record a vocal message and even launch an S.O.S. with the integrated flashlight!!! Hey, don't worry, you don't need to transport the Eiffel tower in your bag: you must put a small smarthpone in your pocket! Friends, that's exciting, if we stop and think about mobile device capabilities, it can make us crazy ... probably in near future, desktop and home computers will be only part of our sweet dreams (or worst nightmare unluckly)...
